One of the most recommended is the nature trail 'Jaworniki', which is only 2 km long and is ideal even for families with small children. Along the route there are information boards that tell about the local flora and fauna in an accessible way.

Before setting out on the trail, it's worth visiting the BdPN's Information and Tourist Education Center in Lutowiska, where you can get maps and up-to-date information on trail availability. Keep in mind that some trails may be closed periodically due to nature protection, so it is always worth checking the current situation.

Admission prices to the park are affordable - adults pay PLN 8, and children and teenagers under 18 pay PLN 4 (as of 2023). The park is open all year round, but the best time for family trips is from May to October.

Another spot that is sure to delight not only children, but adults as well, is the Natural History Museum of the Bieszczady National Park in Ustrzyki Dolne. This is a place where science meets fun, and nature comes alive at your fingertips.

The museum is located at 7 Bełska Street in Ustrzyki Dolne (postal code 38-700). Getting there is easy - the museum is located in the center of town, about a 10-minute walk from the bus and train stations.

The facility offers interactive exhibitions that present the richness of Bieszczady nature in a fascinating way. Children can see here, among other things, dioramas presenting various ecosystems, collections of insects or an exhibition on the geology of the region. Particularly interesting is the multimedia room, where you can watch nature films and listen to the sounds of the Bieszczady forest.

The museum is open to visitors all year round. Opening hours are Tuesday-Friday 9:00-17:00, Saturday-Sunday 9:00-17:00 (in the summer season from May 1 to October 31), and in the off-season: Tuesday-Sunday 9:00-16:00. Ticket prices are affordable: normal - 15 zlotys, reduced - 10 zlotys, family (2+2) - 40 zlotys (as of 2023).

It's worth planning a visit for at least 2-3 hours to fully enjoy all the attractions. For organized groups, the museum also offers educational classes, which are worth booking in advance.

The third point of our Bieszczady adventure is the Bieszczady Bicycle Draisine - an attraction that combines elements of history, nature and active recreation. It's a place where the whole family can feel like real railroaders, pedaling on specially adapted draisine on old railroad tracks.

Bieszczady Bicycle Drezyny is located in the village of Uherce Mineralne 62a (postal code 38-623). Access is relatively easy - the nearest train station is Uherce Mineralne, from where the attraction is about a 1 km walk. Free parking is available for motorists.

A ride on the dreisine is not only great fun, but also an opportunity to admire the beautiful Bieszczady landscapes. There are two routes to choose from: a shorter one of 6 km (ride time about 1.5 hours) and a longer one of 9 km (about 2 hours). The routes are accessible to families with children of all ages, although on the longer route younger children may need more rest.

The attraction is open from April to October, daily from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Ticket prices depend on the route chosen - for the shorter route you'll pay PLN 130 for a handcar (max. 5 people), for the longer route PLN 140 (as of 2023). It is worth booking the ride in advance, especially during the holiday season.

Before setting off on the route, it is worth taking care to dress appropriately - comfortable shoes and headgear are a must. You can buy water and snacks on the spot, but it's a good idea to bring your own provisions for the road.

Another fascinating place, which is sure to delight the little ones, is the Bison Demonstration Enclosure in Muczny. This is a unique opportunity to see these majestic animals up close in their natural habitat.

The enclosure is located in Stuposiany 1A, 38-713 Muczne. Access by car is most convenient, but in the summer season there are also buses from Ustrzyki Dolne. Free parking is available on site.

In the enclosure you can observe the bison from two specially prepared vantage points. The first is a viewing platform, which offers a panoramic view of the entire enclosure. The second point is a special gate, at which the bison often appear, giving you the opportunity to see these impressive animals from very close up.

The enclosure is open to the public all year round, and admission is free. The best time to observe the bison is in the early morning or late afternoon, when the animals are most active.

A visit to the enclosure is not only an opportunity to see the bison, but also to learn about these endangered animals. There are information boards on site, which present the history and biology of the bison in an accessible way.

It is worth remembering that bison are wild animals and you should keep a proper distance and silence when observing them. For safety, do not feed the animals or try to touch them.

Both of these places offer an unforgettable experience and the opportunity to actively spend time outdoors, which is sure to appeal to both children and adults.

At the end of our Bieszczady adventure, we suggest a visit to the Forestry Animal House in Liszna - a place that is sure to delight all small animal lovers. This is a unique opportunity to get to know up close many species of animals characteristic of Bieszczady forests and beyond.

Lesny Zwierzyniec is located in Liszna 5 (postal code 38-607). Access by car is the most convenient - the zoo is located on provincial road No. 897, about 10 km from Cisna. Free parking is available on site.

The zoo is a place where you can meet both animals typical of the Bieszczady Mountains and those a bit more exotic. Among the residents of the zoo are deer, roe deer, wild boar, foxes, wolves, as well as llamas, raccoons or even ostriches. A special attraction for children is the opportunity to feed and stroke some of the animals, under the supervision of caretakers, of course.

The petting zoo is open daily from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. during the summer season (May-September) and 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. during the winter season. Ticket prices are affordable: a regular ticket costs PLN 25, a discounted ticket costs PLN 20, and children under 3 enter for free (as of 2023). In addition, you can buy pet food (PLN 5 per cup), which is great fun for children.

The paths in the petting zoo are suitable for strolling with a baby stroller, although it is worth remembering that the terrain is uneven in places. It's worth reserving about 2-3 hours for the entire visit. During the summer season, it's a good idea to bring headgear and water, as parts of the trail are not shaded.

The Forest Animal Park is not only an attraction, but also a place of education. At the enclosures there are information boards that present interesting facts about the various species in an accessible way. This is a great opportunity for children to learn more about animals and their natural environment.

It is worth remembering that despite being tame, the animals in the petting zoo are still wild creatures. It is important to observe safety rules and not try to touch the animals outside the designated areas.

There are several interesting hiking trails near the zoo, so you can combine your visit with a short hike in the area. It is also worth visiting nearby Cisna, where there is a famous inn 'Siekierezada', referring to the film of the same name.
