Description

Copenhagen Zoo is one of the most interesting zoos in Europe, featuring more than 3,000 animals from 250 species.

It impresses with its architecturally designed pavilions, including the famous Panda House by the Bjarke Ingels Group and the Elephant House designed by Norman Foster.

In addition to admiring the exotic animals, there are educational attractions such as Zoolab, where children can touch animal fur and view skulls. For adults, there is a unique 'Love Tour', showcasing the mating rituals of various species.

avatareman moha month agoOne of the best zoos I’ve visited in Europe a must-visit if you’re in Copenhagen. While it may seem a bit small, it features a wide variety of animals, from massive elephants to tiny creatures. I visited in September and the weather was perfect. The zoo is very clean, the animals are well cared for, and it’s a joy to interact with them.
avatarPhilip Wattersa month agoQuite simply, the best Zoo I’ve ever visited. The zoo is easily accessible from Copenhagen, the number 17A bus stops right outside the zoo if you’re using public transport, takes around 16 mins. The zoo is beautiful, very well laid out, flows nicely and is accessible for those with restricted mobility. Highlights for me are, Elephants, Rhinos, Polar Bears, Pandas and Giraffes…but there is so much more to see. As you’d expect with Denmark, there’s plenty of family friendly facilities and there’s places for food and drink if you need it. Entry to the Zoo is included with the Copenhagen Card so save yourself a bundle of Krone there and you don’t need to wait in line to get a ticket either. Genuinely, the best zoo I’ve been to.
avatarpatrick walsh2 weeks agoCopenhagen Zoo: A Wildly Wonderful Day Out! 🐼🦒 Copenhagen Zoo is an absolute must-visit for animal lovers and families alike! This historic zoo, dating back to 1859, has done an incredible job of creating modern, spacious enclosures for its diverse inhabitants. You can literally travel the world in a day, from the impressive elephant house (designed by a famous architect!) to the captivating Arctic Ring where polar bears swim gracefully overhead in a glass tunnel – a truly unforgettable experience! But the real stars of the show are the giant pandas, who have their own state-of-the-art house where you can even dine with a view of these magnificent creatures. Beyond the A-listers, you'll find over 4,000 animals from around the globe, all seemingly well-cared for and active. The zoo also offers fantastic educational opportunities, with daily feedings and interactive exhibits, including a "poop quiz" (yes, you read that right!) and a "ZOO Mission" for kids to become Nature Heroes. While it's a little outside the city center, it's easily accessible by public transport. There are plenty of food options throughout, from bistros to snack stalls, so you won't go hungry. Whether you're admiring the playful chimps, the majestic giraffes, or exploring the tropical house with its sloths and butterflies, Copenhagen Zoo offers a delightful and engaging experience for all ages. It's more than just a zoo; it's a commitment to conservation and a fantastic way to connect with the natural world. Highly recommended for a full day of adventure! ☘️🌟🌸🪺
