Zamek w Foix

The Castle of Foix is a medieval fortress towering over the city, offering breathtaking views of the Pyrenees.

This fascinating 10th century structure has three distinctive towers - two square towers from before the 11th century and one round tower from the 15th century.

Today, the castle functions as a museum with interactive exhibitions showcasing the history of the counts of Foix and daily life in the Middle Ages. Visitors can explore recreated chambers, war rooms and reading rooms, as well as admire authentic medieval graffiti from when the castle served as a prison.
