The State Chateau of Hluboká

State Hluboká Castle is a gem of neo-Gothic architecture, inspired by the famous Windsor Castle.

The impressive mansion with 140 chambers and 11 towers impresses with its rich ornamentation, carved panels and crystal chandeliers. The interiors hide valuable collections of paintings, silver, porcelain and Flemish tapestries.

The castle is surrounded by a beautiful 1.9-square-kilometer English park, with long avenues of trees and ponds. Originally built in the 13th century as a watchtower castle, it underwent numerous transformations to achieve its current romantic appearance between 1841 and 1871.
