Castillo de San Gabriel

Castillo de San Gabriel is a 16th century fortress located on a small island off the coast of Arrecife, Lanzarote. Originally built of wood and later rebuilt of stone after being destroyed by pirates, this historic monument offers a fascinating glimpse into the island's turbulent past.

It now houses the Arrecife History Museum with more than 3,000 exhibits, including ceramics and historical documents. The castle's flat roof offers incredible views of Arrecife and the Atlantic Ocean.
