Description
Vajdahunyad Castle is an architectural gem of Budapest, combining Romanesque, Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque styles. Originally built of cardboard and wood for the Millennium Exhibition in 1896, it was later reconstructed in stone and brick.
It now houses Europe's largest Hungarian Agricultural Museum with eight permanent exhibitions. In the courtyard is a statue of the chronicler Anonymus - according to legend, touching his pen brings good luck.
It's the perfect place for history, architecture and photography enthusiasts to enjoy a cross-section of Hungary's architectural heritage in one place.
