Description
Malmöhus Castle is the oldest surviving Renaissance castle in Scandinavia, founded in 1434 by King Eric of Pomerania.
This historical gem served a variety of functions - it was a fortress, a mint, a royal residence and even a prison. Today it is part of the Malmö Museer complex, where you can enjoy collections of art, natural history and a fascinating aquarium.
An unusual experience is the light show that casts shadows of ancient balls, dances and scandals on the upper windows of the castle, transporting visitors back to the glory days of this Renaissance building.
