Description
Liptovský Castle is a fascinating historical monument that will take you back to medieval times. Built in 1341 by the administrator of Zvolen, Donča, it served a protective function for the merchant route from Považie.
As you tour the castle, you'll discover stylish interiors, a protected linden avenue and a chapel with a statue of the Virgin Mary. There are also interesting expositions in the complex: The Liptov Mining and Metallurgy Museum and the Museum of Ethnography and Pastoralism.
After visiting the castle, head to nearby Skalka, which offers a beautiful view of the surrounding area.
