Description

Millennium Monument is an impressive replica of the original peristyle that stood in Grant Park between 1917 and 1953.

The semicircular arrangement of 24 pairs of Doric columns, each 40 feet high, made of Indiana limestone, creates a majestic composition. At the base of the monument is a bronze replica of the finials adorning the Wrigley Building and a pedestal with the names of 115 donors who gave at least $1 million to the construction of Millennium Park.

In 2017, the monument underwent a renovation, gaining modern LED lighting and a refurbished fountain. It's the perfect place to take a moment to relax and admire Chicago's architectural artistry.
