Description
Yinxu Royal Tomb Historic Site is one of the oldest and largest archaeological sites in China. This fascinating complex was the last capital of the Shang Dynasty (1600-1046 BC) and hides incredible treasures of history.
The excavation site contains more than 80 foundations of palace buildings, ancestral temples and the only fully preserved tomb of a member of the royal family - Fu Hao's tomb.
The site is famous for the augury bones discovered here, which are crucial to understanding the development of one of the world's oldest writing systems. Excavations have also revealed sophisticated bronze and jade wares, providing insights into ancient funerary customs and craftsmanship.
