Description
National Trust - Cragside is a unique tourist attraction, being the world's first house lit by hydroelectric power. This impressive neo-Tudorian-style Victorian mansion was the home of William Armstrong, an industrial magnate and inventor.
The property impresses with Victorian-era technological innovations, including water-based household appliances and a hydraulic elevator.
Visitors can enjoy the extensive art collection, spectacular architecture and extensive gardens and green spaces. For families, there is a special playground and a 10-kilometer carriage trail around the property.
