Description
Wayland's Smithy is a fascinating Neolithic tomb dating back some 5,500 years, and is one of the best-preserved monuments of its kind in Britain.
This rectangular structure with a stone burial chamber conceals the remains of 14 people, including 11 men, 2 women and a child.
The site is surrounded by beautiful nature and picturesque scenery, perfect for a leisurely stroll. It is located on the historic Ridgeway Trail, close to other prehistoric attractions such as the White Horse of Uffington and Uffington Castle Hillfort.
