Description

Wat Chedi Luang is a majestic Buddhist temple in the heart of Chiang Mai that dates back to the 14th century. Its most distinctive feature is a huge pagoda (chedi) that once rose to a height of 80 meters.

The temple impresses with its unique Lanna-style architecture, with richly decorated carvings of elephants, mythical creatures and floral motifs. The famous Emerald Buddha was once kept here, and today you can admire its jade replica.

It's a place full of spirituality, where you can experience authentic Thai culture and take part in a 'monk chat' program that allows you to talk to monks about Buddhism.
