Description

The Church of St. Ignatius Loyola in Rome is a 17th-century Baroque gem, famous for its stunning trompe l'oeil frescoes by Andrea Pozzo.

Standing on the central marble disc, you can admire the ingenious illusion of a dome painted on a flat ceiling - the effect is breathtaking. The interior impresses with its marble, gilding, and frescoes depicting St. Ignatius' entry into paradise.

It is the second most important Jesuit church in Rome, surrounded by a picturesque square reminiscent of a Rococo theater set.
