Monte Santo António

Monte Santo António is Boa Vista's second highest peak, rising 379 meters above sea level. This volcanic basalt massif offers panoramic views of the neighboring islands of Maio and São Nicolau.

It protects unique endemic plants and flowers, forming part of a 459-hectare nature reserve. The semicircular shape of the mountain with dramatic differences in altitude creates a spectacular backdrop for photography.

A seven-minute walk from Povoação Velha leads to the summit, where nature meets the history of the island's oldest settlement.
