Miradouro da Portela

Miradouro da Portela is a unique viewpoint located 670 meters above sea level in Madeira.

This scenic spot offers a breathtaking panorama of the eastern and northern parts of the island. You can admire the lush valleys, terraced hills and dramatic coastline with the distinctive orange-roofed houses of Porto da Cruz.

On the horizon you can see the majestic geological formation Penha d'Águia, about 600 meters high, which divides the municipalities of Machico and Santana. An ideal spot for photography lovers, especially during morning or afternoon light.
