The Khorezm Silk Museum is a small family-run silk museum located in the historic Ichan-Kala fortress in Khiva, housed in a former mosque.

This place offers more than just sightseeing – you can try your hand at weaving ikat fabrics, tying silk carpets, or dyeing scarves with natural dyes. Among the exhibits are unique silk banknotes from the early 20th century.

The friendly staff, often English-speaking women, conduct demonstrations over tea and sweets, creating an authentic atmosphere away from the main tourist trails.
