Description
The Fingers of Punta del Este is an iconic sculpture on Brava Beach in Uruguay, also known as 'La Mano' (The Hand). Huge fingers emerging from the sand create a surreal sight that has become a symbol of the Punta del Este resort.
The work by Chilean artist Mario Irarrázabal was created in 1982 during an international sculpture competition. The monumental hand rising from the ground attracts tourists from all over the world, who line up to take a souvenir photo with it.
It's a great vantage point overlooking the Atlantic and a must-stop when visiting the Uruguayan coast.
