Detroit Zoo

Detroit Zoo is America's first zoo without bars, where animals can be observed in a more natural environment. Founded in 1928, it offers encounters with more than 2,000 animals representing more than 200 species.

Delightful attractions include the Arctic Ring of Life with floating polar bears, a butterfly and bird house, and a unique wooden carousel with 33 hand-carved animals. For the little ones, there are special Korman Tadpole PlayVenture and Rissman PlayVenture playgrounds.

Wide alleys surrounded by lush greenery create the perfect atmosphere for family recreation and nature education.
