Description
Diamond Head Crater Trailhead is a unique hiking trail leading to the top of a volcanic crater formed 300,000 years ago.
The steep but well-maintained 0.8-mile trail provides unforgettable views of Oahu's south and west coasts, including the famous Waikiki.
As you hike, you'll discover a fascinating military history - the trail was built in 1908 as part of the coastal defense system. At the top are military bunkers and a lighthouse dating back to 1917.
In winter you can look out for humpback whales swimming in the distance!
