Description
Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore is a spectacular national park in Michigan, famous for its 13-mile-long, multi-colored sandstone cliffs rising up to 60 meters above Lake Superior. Minerals such as iron, manganese and copper give the rocks their amazing colors.
The park offers more than 7 waterfalls, 12 miles of beautiful beaches and nearly 5 miles of huge sand dunes. It's a paradise for outdoor activities from kayaking and ice climbing (Michigan Ice Fest) to hiking and scuba diving.
The most popular formations are Miners Castle, with its picturesque beach, and Chapel Rock and Falls, with its 24-meter waterfall. Take an organized kayak tour to safely explore the park's most beautiful spots.
