Description

National Trust - Buckland Abbey is a 700-year-old Cistercian abbey that was transformed into a Tudor estate. This historic treasure was home to the famous sailor Sir Francis Drake and houses legendary artifacts, including an original self-portrait by Rembrandt.

You'll be amazed by the medieval Great Barn, the chapel with its altar of monks and the magnificent Great Hall from the Tudor era.

Explore the picturesque gardens with herbaceous beds and a mysterious wild corner. Three color-coded walking trails lead through ancient woodlands, offering wildlife encounters and breathtaking views.
