Description
Oakwell Hall & Country Park is a unique Elizabethan manor house dating back to 1583, which has remained virtually unchanged for over 400 years. The interiors, decorated in the style of the 17th-century Batt family home, take you back in time, and Charlotte Brontë immortalized this place in her novel 'Shirley'.
The 110-acre park surrounding the manor house features stunning gardens, an orchard, and an arboretum. Here you can discover a mysterious stone sculpture of a ram, a monument to miners, and a Wildlife Wetland for nature lovers. It is the perfect place for a family picnic and a walk along nature trails.
