Description

Lacock Abbey is a medieval abbey dating back to the 13th century that combines elements of architecture from the Tudor, Gothic and Victorian eras.

This unique place is known as the cradle of modern photography thanks to William Henry Fox Talbot, who created the first surviving photographic negative here. It now houses a museum dedicated to his achievements.

The abbey is also famous as the film set of the Harry Potter series, where it served as Hogwarts. The picturesque gardens surrounding it, with herb beds, a wildflower meadow and a rose garden, are the perfect place for a peaceful stroll.
