Description
UNESCO - Bern Old Town is one of the first Swiss sites to be listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1983. This medieval complex impresses with its unique 12th-15th century street layout and impressive gray sandstone architecture.
As you stroll through the cobblestone streets, you'll discover Switzerland's tallest cathedral, Berner Münster, Renaissance fountains and 6 km of shopping arcades full of artisan stores and galleries.
A curiosity is the Ogre Fountain and the house where Einstein lived. The water from the fountains is completely drinkable, a refreshing attraction when visiting.
