Description
The Church of St. Peter and St. Paul in Lviv is a pearl of Baroque architecture built in 1610-1630. This impressive monument impresses with its rich decorations, sculptures and paintings by Matviya Klymkovych.
The bell tower, erected in 1702, is the tallest in Lviv, reaching some 100 meters.
After being closed by Soviet authorities in 1946 and used as a warehouse for several decades, the church was beautifully restored and re-consecrated by the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church in 2011. It is a place of great cultural and religious significance and is an important part of Lviv's historical landscape.
