Khreshchatyk'13-17 is a section of Kiev's main thoroughfare, which rose like a phoenix from the post-war ruins in monumental Stalinist style. A stroll along this 1.2-kilometer pedestrian street is a journey through history – from the first theater (1806) to the tallest skyscraper, the Star. On weekends, the street turns into a bustling pedestrian zone with fountains, street music, and cafes.
