Description

The Beylerbeyi Palace is a jewel of Ottoman architecture located on the banks of the Bosphorus in Istanbul. It combines traditional Ottoman style with Neoclassical, Baroque and Renaissance elements to create a unique blend of Eastern and Western influences.

Built for Sultan Abdülaziz, the palace impresses with its richly decorated ceilings with nautical motifs, rare materials from Egypt and crystal chandeliers. It is divided into two sections - a southern section for official meetings and a northern section for the sultan's family.

This place has hosted many royal personalities, including Empress Eugenie of France and the Duke and Duchess of Windsor, which adds to its special historical significance.
