Description

Alania Castle is an impressive fortification with a rich history dating back to Hellenistic times. Situated on a 250-meter hill, it offers breathtaking views of the Mediterranean Sea.

It is distinguished by a 6.5-kilometer long wall with 140 towers and 400 cisterns. Most of the surviving fortifications date from the Seljuk period, when Sultan Alaeddin Keykubad I made Alanya his winter capital in 1221.

The castle's architecture combines Hellenistic, Roman, Byzantine and Seljuk styles to create a unique cultural blend. It is the perfect place for history and photography lovers.
