Description
Valley of Rocks is a fascinating geological wonder located in Exmoor, near the towns of Lynton and Lynmouth. This U-shaped dry valley was formed during the Ice Age and is famous for its unusual rock formations shaped by wind and weather.
The valley is inhabited by a herd of friendly wild goats that roam freely on the rocky cliffs, adding drama to the landscape. High vantage points offer breathtaking panoramas of the coast.
The site has inspired many legends and was immortalized in R.D. Blackmore's novel as the legendary winter home of the old hag.
