Skiritida Forest Hiking Trail is a magical path in the heart of southern Arcadia. This 14-kilometer trail leads through dense forests of pine, chestnut and oak trees, offering breathtaking views of the surrounding hills.
The forest has a fascinating history - destroyed during the Greek War of Independence in 1821, it was replanted in the early 20th century by local villagers, becoming the first artificial forest in Greece.
During your hike, you will encounter old water mills, natural springs and picturesque villages. Autumn is the best time to explore the colorful foliage of Skiritida.
