PR8 Vereda da Ponta de São Lourenço

PR8 Vereda da Ponta de São Lourenço is one of Madeira's most spectacular trails through the volcanic peninsula on the eastern end of the island.

This 7.5-kilometer trail offers breathtaking views of dramatic cliffs and the Atlantic coast. The trail is moderately difficult, with a total elevation of 533 meters, but is well maintained and equipped with handrails in the steeper sections.

The culminating point, Ponta do Furado, rewards hikers with panoramic views that are especially magical at sunrise and sunset. Remember to bring appropriate footwear and protection from the sun and wind!
