PR 1.2 Vereda do Pico Ruivo

PR 1.2 Vereda do Pico Ruivo is a spectacular hiking trail in Madeira, leading to the island's highest peak (1,861 meters above sea level). This 5.6-kilometer trail of moderate difficulty offers breathtaking 360° panoramic views of the entire island.

The trail is well-marked and well-maintained, consisting of paved and dirt sections with a few steep stairs. The hike takes about 1.5-2 hours and is suitable for both beginners and experienced hikers.

Along the way you will find shelters where you can rest or take shelter from the frequent fog. Remember to dress warmly and be properly prepared!
