Cheddar Gorge Walk Path

Cheddar Gorge Walk Path is a spectacular hiking trail through Britain's deepest gorge.

The trail offers breathtaking views of dramatic rock formations that were created thousands of years ago. During the hike, you may encounter wild Soay goats and sheep, and enjoy panoramic views of the Somerset Levels and Mendip Hills.

The trail passes near the caves where the oldest complete human skeleton in Britain, Cheddar Man, was discovered. For the brave, the historic 1869 Jacob's Ladder staircase is available, leading to the top of the gorge, where there is a 14-meter observation tower.
