Description
5 Lakes Walk is a scenic hiking trail in Zermatt, leading along five mountain lakes: Stellisee, Grindjisee, Grünsee, Moosjisee and Leisee.
Each lake offers unique attractions, from the Matterhorn reflected in its surface to rare species of flowers in the wetlands. The moderately difficult route is about 9.8 kilometers long and takes 2.5-3 hours of walking.
The trail is accessible to families and nature lovers, offering a variety of terrain - from wide gravel paths to narrow mountain paths. It is an ideal destination for photographers looking for spectacular shots of alpine landscapes.

Judi Hostetler Raber3 weeks agoThis trail is approximately 6 miles long. It's a beautiful trail that takes you past 5 different lakes with majestic views of the Matterhorn. It's a relatively easy trail, medium in difficulty. There are restaurants along the way if you don't want to pack a picnic. If you're hiking this with a group, it will take almost all day.
Heikki Kegg7 months agoWe came to Zermatt in late summer to do a short hike and take a few pictures of the magnificent Matterhorn mountain. We took the underground funicular from the village to Sunnega. From there we walked for over an hour along the 5 Lakes hiking trail to Gridjesee to have a snack. The Matterhorn was dominated the landscape the entire hike. We have to come here to ski one day too!
