Description
Tritonenbrunnen is a stunning fountain located on the prestigious Königsallee in Düsseldorf. Created in 1898 by Friedrich Coubillier, it depicts the mythological figures of three tritons battling a huge fish.
Atop the fountain majestically towers the goddess Fortuna holding a rudder and a horn of plenty - symbols of the city's prosperity. Two sea nymphs resting on rocks symbolize sailing and trade.
It's the perfect place to take a break while sightseeing or take souvenir photos, especially beautiful during sunset when the fountain is spectacularly illuminated.
