Description
St. Catherine's Hill is a unique chalk hill near Winchester, offering breathtaking panoramic views of the city and the Itchen River valley.
It's a place that combines history with nature - you'll find the remains of an Iron Age fort and traces of a Norman chapel destroyed in 1537.
The biggest attraction is one of only eight turf-cut mazes in the UK, known as 'Miz-Maze'. A grove of mature beech trees adorns the summit, creating a peaceful oasis for visitors.
The hill is famous for its rich flora and fauna - 25 species of butterflies and rare orchids, including bee orchids and fragrant orchids, await nature lovers.
