Description

Sint-Annatunnel naar Linkeroever is a fascinating pedestrian and bicycle tunnel under the River Scheldt in Antwerp. Built in the 1930s, it stretches for 572 meters and is more than 31 meters below the surface of the water.

The biggest attraction is the original wooden escalator, which is a real architectural and historical gem. The tunnel connects the older part of the city with newer areas on the left bank of the river.

Passing through the tunnel is not only a practical transportation solution, but also a trip back in time - inside you can admire historical photographs and displays about its construction and importance for the development of the city.
