Description

National Trust - Walton Hill is a unique place, combining natural beauty with historical heritage. The hills, covered with semi-natural habitats - limestone meadows, scrub and woodland - are home to a variety of invertebrates, including butterflies, spiders and flies.

The site is famous for its ecological projects to increase the population of Praying Arion butterflies by planting thyme and managing grazing on the hill.

Historic gems include Ivythorne Manor, originally built for Glastonbury Abbey, and the 1741 Walton Windmill - now a Grade II listed building. An ideal place for nature and history lovers!
