Description
National Trust - Hardy Monument is a 22-meter octagonal tower erected in 1844 in honor of Admiral Thomas Masterman Hardy, captain of HMS Victory during the Battle of Trafalgar.
Designed in the shape of a telescope, it offers breathtaking views of the Dorset coastline, from Devon to the Isle of Wight.
Climbing the 120 spiral stairs to the top is quite a challenge, but the reward of the panorama is well worth it. The surrounding grounds of the monument are a paradise for nature walks and picnics.
