Description
Fort Lovrijenac is an impressive medieval fortress located on a 37-meter cliff above the Adriatic Sea, just outside the walls of Dubrovnik.
Built in the 11th century to protect the city from the Venetians, it has seaward walls 12 meters thick. Above the entrance is the famous inscription: 'Freedom is not sold for all the gold of the world'.
The fort offers breathtaking views of the sea and the surrounding area. Fans of the TV series 'Game of Thrones' will recognize this place as the Red Fortress in King's Landing.
