Description
Dunnet Head Lighthouse is a historic lighthouse located on the northernmost point of the Scottish mainland. Built in 1831 by the famous engineer Robert Stevenson, grandfather of writer Robert Louis Stevenson, it is a true architectural gem.
The 300-foot cliffs offer breathtaking views of the Pentland Firth and the Orkney Islands. It's a great place to observe seals and seabirds such as masconurs, gulls and cormorants.
The surrounding moorland and the remains of World War II fortifications add to the site's historic charm.
