Dancing Ledge

Dancing Ledge is a fascinating natural rock formation on the Jurassic coast, formed by quarrying Purbeck limestone about 200 years ago.

The name comes from the impression of 'dancing' waves on the rock at high tide. The site is famous for its small tide pool, which was carved into the rock in the early 20th century specifically for local children learning to swim.
