Description
Calpe Saltmine is a unique salt mine located at the foot of Peñón de Ifach Natural Park. This former Roman mine, which operated until 1988, is now a protected nature reserve.
It is a true paradise for nature lovers and birdwatchers - more than 160 species of migratory birds can be seen here, including pink flamingos and storks.
A semi-circular path around the salt pans allows for close bird watching, while numerous benches and viewpoints allow you to relax and enjoy this unique ecosystem.
