Description

The Krakow Gate is one of Lublin's most valuable monuments, combining Gothic style with Baroque elements. This 14th-century building, erected during the reign of King Casimir the Great, was a key element of the city's fortifications protecting against Tartar and Rus invasions.

Today, the octagonal tower houses the Museum of the History of the City of Lublin, where you can learn about the fascinating history of the place. The distinctive clock on the tower, although now electronic, adds to the gate's unique charm and makes it a recognizable symbol of the city.
