Tithe Barn

Tithe Barn is a fascinating 14th century monument located in the heart of the picturesque village of Lacock. Built of local limestone, this medieval tithe barn impresses with its unique architecture with a distinctive raised-cruck roof.

The interior, divided into eight bays by large rafter trusses, takes you back in time to the medieval era. The barn was originally used to store tithes (a portion of the harvest) given to Lacock Abbey by local tenants.

The site is popular with history buffs and movie fans, as it has appeared in such productions as 'Downton Abbey' and 'Harry Potter'.
