Description

The National Museum of the Romanian Peasant is one of Europe's leading centers of folk art and tradition.

The collection includes more than 100,000 artifacts, including 18,000 ceramic works and 20,000 traditional folk costumes from various regions of Romania, dating back to the first half of the 19th century.

The 1941 Neo-Romanian building, inspired by traditional monastery interiors, conceals unique displays, such as a 'house within a house' - an unrealistic representation of a peasant cottage. In the courtyard is a wooden church from the 18th century, moved here in 1992.
