Description

The National Museum is the cultural jewel of Oslo, which impresses with one of the largest art collections in the Nordic region. More than 400,000 works of art, architecture and design are waiting to be discovered in the modern 13,000 m² building.

The biggest attraction is a room dedicated to Edvard Munch with the first version of the famous 'Scream'. The collection also includes works by international masters like Picasso, van Gogh and Matisse.

Of note is Sámi art, including a controversial but thought-provoking fabric with a reindeer skull by Máret Ánne Sara.
