Description

The National Gallery is a jewel among Bangkok's art museums, housed in the historic former Royal Thai Mint building. This 1902 neo-Palladian style architectural gem is stunning not only for its facade, but also for its extensive collections.

In the gallery you'll see traditional Thai art from the 17th century, portraits with Western influences from the 19th century and contemporary works. Of particular interest are oil paintings by King Rama VI and King Bhumibol.

Periodic temporary exhibitions showcasing paintings, sculpture and installations by Thai and foreign artists ensure that each visit offers a new artistic experience.
