Description
The Great Hall is one of the best-preserved medieval halls in England, dating back to the 13th century. Built during the reign of King Henry III, it impresses with its Gothic architecture, high vaulted ceilings and marble columns.
The most famous feature is the legendary Round Table, over 5 meters in diameter and weighing 1.2 tons, associated with the myths of King Arthur and his knights. Although the table was created in the 13th century, it was later repainted and incorporated into the Arthurian legend.
Here you can try on replicas of armor, learn about the history of medieval justice and discover the charms of the adjacent Queen Eleonora Garden with herbs and plants typical of the 13th century.
